Interlog announces the opening of its new office in India

Press release

Mangalore, June 11th 2016

Non asset-based, international third- and four-party logistics (3PL/4PL) services provider Interlog announced today it will open its second India office in Mangalore to continue its global development strategy. The office will be setup under Mangalore Internet City (MIC) Business Park in Bondel.

Interlog, founded in 1999, provides 4PL, technology, and freight audit and payment services to a broad group of international and Fortune 400 firms. Offices in France, India, Portugal and the U.S. service customers in 20 countries in sectors including the food industry, consumer products, luxury, banking, automotive, electronics, steel, packaging, healthcare, and energy.

“Interlog is committed to growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions,” according to Interlog owner and President Jean-Marie Mascarenhas. “Over the last several years, Interlog acquired a U.S. 3PL company, Pro-Log, and a major software platform, OCS, opened major operational centers in India and Portugal, and upgraded its logistics management data and reporting tools in order to broaden our vertical experience, strengthen IT capabilities and expand geographical reach. Those acquisitions also facilitated organic growth by allowing us to offer additional services to existing customers and by strengthening our team. We’ll continue to look for companies, technologies, and situate operational centers in areas that will help us grow Interlog and build a competitive advantage for our company and our customers.”

Interlog established its business location in India, Chennai in 2002. Today that location is 110 employees who provide freight audit and payment activities, IT development and management litigation. Following the acquisition of the Pro-Log US in July 2015, with this new office in Mangalore Interlog will further expand its global organization. Both offices are intended to work in partnership as a collaboration to better serve customers of Interlog and ensure maintaining the level of service, especially in cases of natural disaster.

In terms of what made Mangalore attractive as a location to Interlog, Mascarenhas cited how the region’s geographic location and strong education facilities produce a stable workforce with strong language and IT skills, and a solid grasp of western and eastern cultures. “Interlog is a stable, committed and profitable business focused on superior attention to customer needs through process and data analytics excellence. Our business model in India is evolving from a BPO-based platform and service set to a more open and collaborative front-office model. Our ability to offer new and expanded solutions in data analytics is a critical part of our strategy. We believe we can leverage this specific location in Mangalore, accessing the wealth of local workforce talent, to best directly serve our growing Asia-Pacific Region and multi-national customer base.”

Mascarenhas continued, “Interlog is the first company to establish itself the MIC Business Park. We hope to develop opportunity synergies with companies in the business park. We are honored by the trust placed in us. We are proud to locate our facility here, and we look forward to working with the local community.”

The company is looking to employ as many local resources as possible in co-ordination with MIC. Interlog will inaugurate its new office in Mangalore on July 11th, 2016.
